Auction News – February 2026

Following the success of the two recent January evening auctions’ we are busy cataloguing for the next sale taking place on March the 14th/15th.

The sale will be a much larger, two day “hybrid sale” (live in the Goldsmith Hangar at the National Centre and also broadcast live on-line for remote viewing and bidding).

The sale will feature some 700 Lots and consist of predominantly engines and kits.

In terms of engines, we are currently working our way through possibly the best collection of “new in box” engines we have seen, it represents something of a time capsule, a significant range of OS, Enya Super Tigre and Cox plus many more, mostly in the condition in which they left the shop.

In addition, there are a number of brand-new un-run Oliver Tigers in beautiful repro boxes, as well as a few in original boxes.

As well as the boxed engines there are a significant number of unboxed engines that are either in new or near new condition, if you are looking at improving your collection there are some of the nicest condition Ed Bee’s, Elfin’s and other small classics we have seen.

As well as the smaller engines we have a couple of outstanding engines aimed at the large-scale modeller, a Seidel 9-cylinder radial, brand new in box and a Roto 85 in line four stroke twin, both stunning engines and a rare opportunity to make a considerable saving against the brand-new cost.

Additionally, there is of course the usual variety with a fair selection of “users and runners” plus some very interesting big sparkies and tethered car engines, pretty much something to cater for all engine lovers’ tastes.

As well as the vast array of engines there are a number of builders kits in varying condition, and covering a range of interesting subjects, most in fair condition with one or two real classics in there and some fairly old rarities.

Looking forward to later in the year we are already thinking about the Autumn/Winter programme of auctions and have been engaged to deal with a number of significant collections, already in waiting are around 120 builders kits of varying age and subject… and several hundred more engines.

Keep an eye on the National Centre website for updates and of course we will be Emailing out to BMFA members and previous Auction registrants in advance of each sale.

As usual we are able to send purchased items (unless marked “collection only”) and are also able to ship overseas, a point worth noting is an increase in postage and courier charges, we have seen an increase in all services so of course have to pass these on, we always endeavour to keep costs as low as possible.

We look forward to seeing you at future auctions whether it be live at the National Centre or live on-line.
